YouTube places restriction on creators; requires 10k views for adverts on channels

The video sharing company, YouTube has over the years been a source of livelihood for creative individuals that explores the platform to share  with the introduction of YouTube Partnership Program (YPP) since 2007. However, in recent times , original works of such creative minds are re-uploaded by some others so as to get views and earn income they do not deserve. This is an abuse to the owner of the original work of art.

It is on that note, the company, YouTube via a blog post informs content creators about the restrictions placed on its platform. The restriction is by updating the threshold required to join the programme. The threshold is for the creators to have up to 10,000 views, so as to protect the revenue of original creators. It has also made it possible to report an impersonating YouTube channels .

LASU first class student wins Don Etiebet’s prize for Computer Science

Sola Olabanjo, a first class student of the Lagos State University (LASU), has won the Best Bachelor of Science, Computer Science Students’ Projects Award for Tertiary Institutions in Lagos State. Olabanjo was of the Computer Science Department in the institution. Prof. Benjamin Aribisala, Head, Computer Science Department of LASU, made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos. He said that the award was sponsored by a former Minister of Petroleum, Chief Don Etiebet. Aribisala said the contestants were tested on the project, “Design and Implementation of Administrative E-memo for Tertiary Institutions -A case study of Lagos State University’’. He said that Olabanjo’s final year project was the only one among others submitted by the department for the award. Lagos state university (LASU) has passed the bill to law for the hosting of its second unified carnival tagged ‘’LASU CARNIVAL 2016 ‘’the tradition’’ in a report released by the  Student Union president,  Comrade Sekoni Tayo, the carnival would be hosted to intergrate  all students and staff of the University as the management body look to host one of their events that carries every fraction of the institution including the primary and secondary schools.
