At the Presidential level, Former President of the Faculty of Social Sciences Comr. Shekoni Taofik A.K.A  TAYOUR  with  930 votes, won against Adebanjo Fatai Adekoya (D-Erudite) with 648 votes while Balogun Hammed Funsho (BHF) came from a distant 3rd with 297 votes.

A level 14 senior LASTMA Officer , Surajudeen Bakare was on official duty when he was murdered by some mobs (Okada riders and tanker driver) in Apapa,Lagos State. The Lagos state government have condemned the killing of the officer and have launched manhunt to bring those miscreants and perpetrators of this inhumane acts to book. Sources had it that the statement of the Lagos state government on the renewed traffic law binding motorists on plying the 475 restricted areas in Lagos state so as to ease traffic across the state has been in enforcement since it was pronounced.
