Lawyer, Babalakin Appointed UNILAG Pro- Chancellor

Lawyer, Philanthropist, businessman ,Wale Babalakin(S.A.N) has been appointed as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the University of Lagos, UNILAG. This was contained in a statement released by the Federal Government yesterday.

Babalakin who is currently the chairman of the Resort Group was the former Pro-chancellor of University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID between 2009 and 2013.
During his tenure as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of UNIMAID, he served as Chairman of various committee. Such as; Committee of Pro-Chancellor of Federal Universities in Nigeria and Implementation Monitoring Committee in 2009 between FGN and various University Staff Unions including ASUU, SSANU etc.
Babalakin is a recipient of  National honour of Office of Federal Republic (OFR) in 2007.

LASU first class student wins Don Etiebet’s prize for Computer Science

Sola Olabanjo, a first class student of the Lagos State University (LASU), has won the Best Bachelor of Science, Computer Science Students’ Projects Award for Tertiary Institutions in Lagos State. Olabanjo was of the Computer Science Department in the institution. Prof. Benjamin Aribisala, Head, Computer Science Department of LASU, made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos. He said that the award was sponsored by a former Minister of Petroleum, Chief Don Etiebet. Aribisala said the contestants were tested on the project, “Design and Implementation of Administrative E-memo for Tertiary Institutions -A case study of Lagos State University’’. He said that Olabanjo’s final year project was the only one among others submitted by the department for the award. LASU To Host Second Carnival Tagged LASU Carnival 2016 ‘’The Tradition’’

Lagos state university (LASU) has passed the bill to law for the hosting of its second unified carnival tagged ‘’LASU CARNIVAL 2016 ‘’the tradition’’ in a report released by the  Student Union president,  Comrade Sekoni Tayo, the carnival would be hosted to intergrate  all students and staff of the University as the management body look to host one of their events that carries every fraction of the institution including the primary and secondary schools.
