Lawyer, Babalakin Appointed UNILAG Pro- Chancellor

Lawyer, Philanthropist, businessman ,Wale Babalakin(S.A.N) has been appointed as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the University of Lagos, UNILAG. This was contained in a statement released by the Federal Government yesterday.

Babalakin who is currently the chairman of the Resort Group was the former Pro-chancellor of University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID between 2009 and 2013.
During his tenure as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of UNIMAID, he served as Chairman of various committee. Such as; Committee of Pro-Chancellor of Federal Universities in Nigeria and Implementation Monitoring Committee in 2009 between FGN and various University Staff Unions including ASUU, SSANU etc.
Babalakin is a recipient of  National honour of Office of Federal Republic (OFR) in 2007.

A level 14 senior LASTMA Officer , Surajudeen Bakare was on official duty when he was murdered by some mobs (Okada riders and tanker driver) in Apapa,Lagos State. The Lagos state government have condemned the killing of the officer and have launched manhunt to bring those miscreants and perpetrators of this inhumane acts to book. Sources had it that the statement of the Lagos state government on the renewed traffic law binding motorists on plying the 475 restricted areas in Lagos state so as to ease traffic across the state has been in enforcement since it was pronounced.
