How to bold, italicize and strikethrough text in WhatsApp

If you’re a WhatsApp user — and the chances are high since more than one billion people open the app each month — you might be interested to know that the chat app just added some neat new formatting options. Now you can usebold, italics and strikethrough in your messages with friends and family. These tricks, a rare update that might actually (slightly) change how people use WhatsApp, are pretty easy to master: For bold: add an asterisk (*) before and after the specifics words : e.g. *hello* For italics: add an underscore (_) before and after the specifics words: e.g. _hello_ For strikethrough: add a tilde (~) before and after the specifics words: e.g. ~hello~ These new stylings can also be entered in the WhatsApp web client — which launched last year — but the formatting will only show up in the app-based version of chats. Tunji Braithwaite, lawyer, author, politician, dies at 82

  Elder statesman Dr. Tunji Braithwaite is dead. The 82-year-old lawyer died this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos. Dr. Braithwaite reportedly died at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos after a brief illness as disclosed by his son in a telephone conversation. The late statesman spoke out against corruption and canvassed for Nigerian confederalism until his death. Dr. Braithwaite founded the now-defunct Nigerian Advance Party and petitioned for a new confederal constitution to replace the 1999 constitution, arguing that the 1999 constitution encourages corruption by granting immunity to governors and presidents. “Governors determine security votes which they do not account for. Since 1999, the military constitution clothes them [governors and presidents] with immunity against being arrested for criminal misdeeds,” he said. Released: 29th February 2016 priority: Urgent The attention of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit has been drawn to the alleged denial of Muslim sisters from writing the ongoing Jamb Examination on the basis of their use of Hijab, particularly, at Daleware Institute of technology, 31-33 Bode Thomas Road,off Shyllon Street, Palmgrove, Lagos. This unfortunate incident occurred today 29th February 2016. While MSSN shall investigate this matter and revert to the public  and other appropriate quarters on our findings, we wish to appeal to the Muslims students to remain calm while this matter is addressed. As law abiding citizens, we shall continue to fight for our rights within the ambit of the law.
